ZA ZA WINS BEST IN SHOW!

On October 22-23, 2011 my precious daughter help me load up and we left on a trek to our first dog show with Za Za.  Za-Z (what I call her) is just 11 months old and had never been shown.

Kyrie (my friend) and I had been attending a handling class for conformation to socialize her.   She is such a puppy that it was hard to get her to focus and really show herself.  I thought of not entering her because I thought she wasn’t ready but decided “Oh Heck, I can use it as practice.”

It was VERY cold in an unheated building and the acoustics made every bark from every dog reverberate off the walls like we were in a big cave.  It scared Za-Z a lot.

There are two shows each day and the first show we did well.  She came in second to her sister but still won her first designation toward her Championship.

The second show in the afternoon was surreal.  We won our class then they called our number so I went back in the ring and won again.  I was shocked and asked the judge “What did I win?”  She smiled and said, “A medal”.  I thought, “Well that’s nice.”  (I found out later that she had won Best of Breed Puppy.)  Then suddenly I hear our number again and we go back into the ring.  This time there were all these other breeds in the ring with us.  I knew this was the class called group.  And guess what WE WON AGAIN.

This was getting exciting.  I was sitting ringside holding Za Za.  Suddenly there was a huge commotion and screeching and barking dogs as a Boxer attacked a Water Spaniel immediately behind me.  Za Za and I both just about jumped out of our skins.  No one was hurt but Za Za was now shaking so hard.  She was really scared.  Within 5 minutes they called our number and we went back into the ring.

Za Za wouldn’t stand well or be examined properly because she was still shaking.  I was kneeling on the hard cement trying to get her to relax when I heard the judge say (for the 2nd time) and the BEST IN SHOW goes to the Biewer!  My jaw dropped, I said, “What?  Me?”  All was a blur as I heard Kimberly (my daughter) screaming and people coming up and congratulating me.

Za Za just wanted me to hold her (which I did).

She ending up completing the weekend with winning her National and International Championship Titles.

It was a fabulous day and I am so proud of my gorgeous little Za Za.  She is the most loving little Being ever!

I will show her next year in the spring and then we will have puppies later in the year.

We have puppies now out of our many times Champion Russian Import Mr. James Bond and our National/International BEST IN SHOW Acapella.  The puppies look beautiful.

We also have  puppies out of Acapella’s mom who is also a National and International Champion.  These puppies are ready for their new homes now.
